Offline
What works without a connection, what waits, and why you always know which it is.
The installed apps keep a local copy of your records so the collection is there when the network is not — in a vault, on a plane, in a house with no signal.
What you can do offline
- Browse assets, collections, locations, boards and the plan from the last synced copy.
- Open an asset and read its record, its documents that have already been downloaded, and its valuation history.
- Record a verification or a condition check; it is queued and sent when you reconnect.
- Add an asset or a photo with Capture; it is saved as a draft and uploaded later.
What waits for a connection
Anything that needs the server to answer — inviting someone, changing encryption, exports, valuation engine estimates, publishing to a store, Portfolio figures that have changed since the last sync.
You always know
A banner says You're offline the moment the connection drops and disappears when it returns. Nothing in the app shows a technical error for a missing connection; what you see is the last-known state, with the time it was last updated.
Encryption and the local copy
The local copy of an encrypted account stores ciphertext. Records are decrypted when you read them, with the key from your device keychain; a lost device that is locked gives up nothing readable.
Web
The web app caches what you have recently viewed and shows it read-only while offline; it does not queue changes.
App lock, sessions and the security log
Lock instead of signing out, two-step verification, every device signed in, sign out everywhere, and the record of what happened to your login.
Auctions
Submitting assets to an auction house, tracking the submission to a consignment and a result, and recording what came back.
