Metals & bullion
Gold, silver, platinum, palladium and rhodium — bars, coins, rounds and ingots — valued live from the spot price.
Metals are the one category Storehouses can value without you: the spot price for the metal is fetched regularly, multiplied by weight and purity, and the asset's value moves with the market. A premium over spot (for a recognised product or a numismatic form) is recorded separately so the two never blur. Weight can be entered in grams, ounces or troy ounces; the record keeps the unit you used.

Documents a specialist expects
- Receipt / invoice
- Certificate (assay or mint)
- Insurance policy
The asset page shows which of these are missing; the Estate readiness score counts them. See Documents.
How it is valued
Spot price × weight × purity, updated automatically; premium entered by you; dealer quotes and appraisals add to the history. Every figure is kept in the asset's valuation history with its source and date — see Valuation.
