Assets
Collections
Group assets however you think about them. A collection is the unit you share, export, insure and submit.
A collection is a named group of assets — "The watch collection", "Grandmother's jewelry", "Living room art". Every asset belongs to at most one collection; use Ensembles and Boards for arrangements that cut across collections.
Why collections matter
Most things you do to a group of assets are done to a collection:
- Share a collection with a share link, or scope a member's access to particular collections.
- Export it as a portfolio PDF, an asset manifest or an insurance pack.
- Submit it to an auction house, or publish it to your storefront.
- See its figures — Portfolio's allocation by collection, and each collection's own facts (assets, value, share of the whole, documents missing).
Working with collections
- Create from Assets → Collections → New collection, or while adding an asset.
- Move assets between collections from the grid: select, then Move — one confirmation for the whole batch.
- Rename or describe from the collection page; the description appears in exports.
- Delete a collection only when it is empty, or choose to move its assets first. Assets are never deleted with a collection.
Encrypted accounts encrypt a collection's name and description like any other sensitive field.
The Sample Collection
The five sample assets live in a collection called Sample Collection. Removing the collection removes the samples with it; it is the only collection that deletes its contents, because samples are not yours. See Your first assets.
