Editing, moving and removing
Changing a record, working on many assets at once, and what deleting does — and does not — remove.
Editing one asset
Edit on the asset page opens the full record for its category. Everything is editable except the registry ID and the activity trail. Changes are saved as you confirm them and written to the asset's Activity with who made them and when.
Values are not edited in place: adding a new valuation adds to the history, so the old figure and its evidence are kept. See Valuation.
Many at once
In the Assets grid, select assets (click, shift-click for a range, or Select all on a filtered list) and act on the batch:
- Move to a collection or a location — one confirmation for the whole batch.
- Add to a board or an ensemble.
- Export or share just the selection.
- Remove samples — the only batch delete the grid offers.
Roles
Editing needs the Editor role or above; Viewers can look but not change. Owners and Admins can delete. See People and roles.
Deleting
Delete asset lives only in the asset page's menu, behind a confirmation. Deleting removes the record, its photographs and attached documents, its valuation history and its place in every board, ensemble and plan. The deletion itself is written to the account's audit trail. It cannot be undone — if the asset has left your possession, prefer recording the sale, donation or transfer in the estate plan or Marketplace, which keeps the record and closes it.
Deleting a collection never deletes its assets (the Sample Collection is the one exception). Deleting a location asks where its assets should go.
