Locations

The register of places: where everything is, what it is worth there, when it was last checked, and whether it is covered.

Locations (Assets → Locations) is the register of places. Each location records a name, a type — Vault · Gallery · Archive · Off-site · Residence · Other — where it is (floor, building, city), optional notes, the area, and whether it is climate controlled.

The list answers four questions per place: how many assets are there, what are they worth, when was the last inventory, and is the value insured. Empty locations are always named ("6 locations · 1 empty") and offer Move assets here or Delete.

A location's page

  • The assets stored there, grouped by collection.
  • Estimated value and share of value — the same figures Portfolio shows under Where it sits.
  • Last inventory — the most recent verification at this location, and an amber Due when it is past the cadence you set in Verification.
  • Insurance — the policies that cover this location, or an uninsured warning that also appears in Protect.

The spatial view

The board Where everything is (Boards → made for you) is this register drawn as a picture: one zone per location, every asset placed. It is generated, never stored, and always current.

Moving assets

Select assets in the grid and choose Move, or drag them between zones on Where everything is. A move is written to each asset's activity and, if you have the alert on, you are told when an asset leaves a location.

Members with a scope limited to certain locations see only those locations and the assets in them. Members whose visibility excludes exact locations see the city, not the room. See People and roles.
